Collect original art from the Star Wars: The Clone Wars with a new Artist Sketch cards from Topps. The Star Wars: The Clone Wars director Dave Filoni will participate in a limited amount of cards distributed into Hobby along with cards by 18 other animators. The trading card set is also comprised of 90 movie cards telling the story of the Clone Wars theatrical release. The imagery is really incredible and grabs some of those sure to be quick sequences. Inserts included are Base Foil Parallels, Sketch Cards, Animation Cel Cards, Motion Cards and Foil Cards.
Here's a look at some of the new cards completed by Star Wars artist Cynthia Cummens.
"Seeing some of these characters like Asajj -- who we haven't see on the big screen until now -- and Ahsoka will be exciting for fans," Cummens says about the new Clone Wars animated series. "They're great looking characters with interesting stories. And of course, it's exciting to see the familiar faces. Speaking as a life-long fan myself, it's just another chance to escape into the Star Wars universe. Who doesn't want a bit of that?"
Of all the characters Cummens has drawn for The Clone Wars card set, she's taken in by the newest member of the Star Wars family. "Ahsoka is a beautiful character -- I love her eyes!" Cummens says. "In my opinion, she was by far the most fun to draw."
Cummens thinks collectors will be thrilled with the new Topps sketch cards. "There's always something exciting about ripping open a pack," Cummens says. "Topps has great looking product and whether collectors buy through retail or prefer the hobby boxes, there's something for everyone who collects these cards. All the artists have done a great job on these sketch cards. Everyone was excited to get started and the results have been awesome!"
